Jammu: Speakers at a seminar titled \u201cGive Peace a Chance\u201d held in Jammu emphasized that lasting peace in South Asia is impossible without resolving the Kashmir dispute through dialogue with Pakistan.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the seminar was organized jointly by the All Parties United Morcha (APUM) and the United Peace Alliance (UPA) Jammu. The participants said that talks should focus solely on Jammu and Kashmir, stressing that the issue cannot be ignored if regional stability is to be achieved. They questioned why dialogue with Pakistan remains suspended, remarking that if cricket matches can resume between the two countries, there is no justification for avoiding peace talks on Kashmir.<\/p>\n

The convener of APUM, I.D. Khajuria, Sikh leader Narender Singh Khalsa, Shahid Saleem, Safeer Chowdhury\u2014senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)\u2014and others who spoke on the occasion demanded the restoration of Articles 370 and 35-A and the full statehood of Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n
