Raipur: In another tragic incident highlighting the growing mental health crisis among Indian paramilitary forces, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable from the 231st Battalion was found hanging inside his quarters in Geedam area of Dantewada district, south Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased, a native of Bhawanipur in Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Kanpur district, was discovered dead around 5 a.m. A forensic team examined the scene, and the body was sent for post-mortem. Police said no foul play was suspected, though an inquiry has been initiated.<\/p>\n
The case adds to a worrying trend of suicides among Indian security personnel deployed in Maoist-affected areas.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, another CRPF constable, Pappu Yadav, was found dead in Bijapur, while a Chhattisgarh Armed Forces officer, Dinesh Chandela, allegedly shot himself in August.<\/p>\n
Analysts say the repeated incidents reflect extreme stress, isolation, and lack of psychological support for troops stationed in prolonged conflict zones.
