Likewise, of the 21,386 certificates issued under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota, 18,945 went to Jammu and a mere 2,441 to Kashmir.

Even in categories like Actual Line of Control (ALC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC), Jammu maintained a commanding lead — 2,796 versus 484 for ALC and 43,438 versus 33,226 for OBC. Kashmir surpassed Jammu only in the Resident of Backward Area (RBA) category, with 31,804 certificates issued against 15,595 in Jammu.

District-wise, Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu division accounted for the highest number of ST certificates, while Anantnag, Kupwara, and Baramulla led in the Kashmir Valley.

Observers say these figures — though substantial — are only a fraction of the actual scale of the policy, which is reportedly being used to facilitate demographic transformation in the occupied territory through large-scale issuance of domicile and reservation certificates to outsiders.

The data comes amid mounting criticism of the new reservation policy introduced last year, which amended the 2005 rules and placed nearly 70 percent of government jobs and professional seats under various quotas.

Srinagar: In what analysts describe as a rare official admission, the administration has disclosed that over 8.21 lakh reservation certificates have been issued across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in the last two years — a figure that sources say represents only one-fourth of the actual number, as the process continues unchecked under India’s …

[32

post-186751","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-statements-form-kashmir
["GET
