The protesters, carrying placards and shouting slogans in support of their demands, vowed to continue their struggle until justice was served.

As the march approached the Civil Secretariat, Indian police resorted to a heavy-handed action, erecting barricades and blocking the protesters near the main bridge. The ensuing standoff led to traffic disruption and tension in the area. Witnesses said that despite the peaceful nature of the protest, the police prevented workers from proceeding further, reflecting the regime’s intolerance towards even civil demonstrations.

The daily wagers, many of whom have been serving for years without regularisation, condemned the authorities for exploiting their services while denying them basic rights. They said the puppet administration’s repeated assurances had proven hollow, forcing them to resort to street protests.

Earlier, the protesting employees had temporarily suspended water supply to the Chief Minister’s residence and other VIP areas in Jammu as a symbolic move to highlight their grievances.

Meanwhile, widespread resentment prevails across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against India’s anti-people policies and the puppet regime’s continued suppression of public voices. Locals say that the denial of livelihood rights, coupled with political repression, has exposed the exploitative and colonial character of India’s rule in the occupied territory.

The Daily Wagers United Front has vowed to continue its agitation until the government meets its commitments, saying the struggle will intensify if their demands are ignored.

Srinagar: A massive protest demonstration was taken out by hundreds of daily wage employees in Srinagar against the Modi-backed puppet regime’s apathy towards their long-pending demands for regularisation and release of pending wages.
