According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that people \u2014 including doctors, activists, and parents of youth \u2014 are being arrested, harassed, and humiliated during cordon-and-search operations and house raids. He said such actions are being used by the Indian BJP government as a war tactic to suppress the Kashmiris\u2019 struggle for their right to self-determination.<\/p>\n
The APHC described the prevailing situation in the territory as highly precarious, particularly concerning the safety and security of common people. Minhas added that the BJP regime, led by the Lieutenant Governor and its forces\u2019 establishment, is fabricating false narratives of peace, investment, and development to justify its illegal actions of August 5, 2019. The regime, he said, is attempting to create an impression that all is well in IIOJK, whereas the reality is completely the opposite.<\/p>\n
The APHC condemned the blast incident in New Delhi and expressed solidarity with the victim families. It said the circumstances surrounding the incident raise suspicions of involvement by the BJP government and its agencies \u2014 RAW and NIA \u2014 as part of a conspiracy to criminalize and justify the harassment of Kashmiris and Muslims in India. The APHC demanded a probe into the incident by an independent body.<\/p>\n
The APHC also strongly condemned the blast near a court in Islamabad, Pakistan, expressing solidarity with the victim families and urging the Government of Pakistan to expose and defeat the enemies and their masters operating from Afghanistan at the behest of India.<\/p>\n
Minhas further said that the ongoing occupation of land and construction of concrete structures for Indian forces personnel in villages and areas near the Line of Control indicate a deliberate military conspiracy in the territory. He pointed out that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are suffering from severe mental health issues due to New Delhi\u2019s repressive policies. Studies from the region, he noted, have revealed alarmingly high levels of anxiety, depression, and psychological distress among the population.<\/p>\n
The spokesman reiterated that the United Nations has passed several resolutions on Kashmir, yet the dispute remains unresolved. He said Indian forces have detained thousands of Kashmiri youths under draconian laws \u2014 including the Public Safety Act (PSA) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) \u2014 and continue to raid homes. However, he emphasized, they will never succeed in crushing the Kashmir freedom movement.<\/p>\n
