New Delhi: The deadly explosion near Delhi\u2019s Red Fort has triggered widespread political outrage in India, with opposition parties holding Home Minister Amit Shah responsible for what they described as a \u201cclear failure\u201d of the country\u2019s internal security mechanism.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Congress General Secretary and Member of Parliament KC Venugopal said the incident had completely exposed the Modi regime\u2019s hollow claims of peace and stability. He demanded Shah\u2019s resignation and called for an independent, transparent probe into the lapses that led to the blast.<\/p>\n
Venugopal said the Home Minister had earlier boasted in Parliament that \u201cno terror attacks happen in mainland India,\u201d but the Red Fort explosion had proven otherwise. \u201cSuch overconfidence has endangered the safety of citizens,\u201d he remarked, adding that the government owed the people a truthful account of the security breach.<\/p>\n
Senior Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit also questioned the regime\u2019s repeated failures to prevent such incidents, saying those in power must be held accountable for every lapse that costs innocent lives. He stressed that the National Investigation Agency should not only probe the attack but also examine why such incidents are on the rise.<\/p>\n
