Washington: The United States has announced sanctions against 32 entities and individuals across several countries, including India, citing links to Iran\u2019s ballistic missile and UAV programmes.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, among those targeted is India-based Farmlane Private Limited, which the US Treasury alleged facilitated procurement of key materials for Iran via a United Arab Emirates-based firm, Marco Klinge.<\/p>\n
According to the US State Department, the sanctions are part of Washington\u2019s ongoing \u201cmaximum pressure\u201d campaign against Iran, aimed at cutting off its access to global financial systems and enforcing UN snapback sanctions reimposed in September over Tehran\u2019s nuclear non-compliance.<\/p>\n
John K. Hurley, US Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, stated that Iran exploits financial networks worldwide to procure components for both nuclear and conventional weapons, threatening regional and global security.<\/p>\n
The US said it will continue to target entities in third countries that support Iran\u2019s missile and UAV programmes, emphasizing that sanctions are a key tool to disrupt the flow of materials and expose networks facilitating Iran\u2019s weapons development.<\/p>\n
