Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior National Conference leader and Indian Parliament member Agha Ruhullah Mehdi has strongly condemned the demolition of the ancestral home of a Kashmiri doctor Umar Nabi in Pulwama, calling such actions without evidence a form of collective punishment.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian troops blasted Dr. Nabi\u2019s ancestral home in Koil village during the night between Thursday and Friday. Indian authorities claimed that Dr Nabi was killed in the recent New Delhi blast and alleged he was inside the vehicle that exploded and involved in the incident.<\/p>\n
Taking to X, Ruhullah Mehdi said, \u201cMaking an entire family homeless during the harsh winter of Kashmir without evidence\/court order or any law linking them to the incident is an act of cruelty. Demolishing a home won\u2019t deliver punishment it only inflicts collective suffering.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cIt doesn\u2019t bring justice to the innocent lives lost in the terror attack, and it doesn\u2019t achieve the ends of justice\u201d.<\/p>\n
Stating that the actual perpetrators must be held accountable through lawful investigation, he stressed, \u201cMass detentions, coercive interrogations, and illegal demolitions will not bring peace, they will drag Kashmir back by decades.\u201d<\/p>\n
