Srinagar: The Leh Apex Body (LAB) and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) will submit a joint document of demands to the Indian government, todaym amid growing discontent in Ladakh region of occupied Jammu and Kashmir over New Delhi\u2019s refusal to address their demands.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, leaders of the LAB and KDA drafted the document after weeks of internal discussions and consultations with legal experts and civil society stakeholders. LAB co-chairman Chering Dorjay Lakruk confirmed that the finalised charter would be emailed to the Indian home ministry before being made public.<\/p>\n

While the leaders did not disclose details ahead of submission, they said the document incorporates all major political and constitutional demands, including restoration of statehood, Sixth Schedule safeguards for land, resources and jobs, and the release of all those detained following the September 24 violence in Leh.<\/p>\n

The two bodies have accused New Delhi of prolonged delays, noting that talks with the Indian government had stalled for months after the killing of four civilians during protests by Ladakhi youth demanding advancement of dialogue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
