New Delhi: Tensions are rising again in Himachal Pradesh as Hindu groups have shifted their focus to a centuries-old mosque in Una district, mere weeks after the Sanjauli mosque in Shimla became a major flashpoint.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, this new dispute in Daulatpur Chowk, Ward 1, centers on a mosque built on registered Waqf land, which has now become the target of heated protests.<\/p>\n

The mosque, which had been undergoing minor repairs, has been suddenly labeled a “threat” by Hindu groups. They have gathered villagers and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, demanding a complete halt to construction and a ban on prayers. A member of the protesting group claimed, “There are no Muslims in this village, yet people from nearby places come here to pray. This can create a problem.”<\/p>\n

However, several peace-loving residents from the majority community have rejected these allegations, insisting the mosque has never been a disturbance. “No one has ever faced a problem because of Muslims coming here to pray. Those creating trouble are not speaking for the village. They are disturbing harmony,” said one local Hindu resident. Another added, “The mosque is built on Waqf land. Everyone knows this.
