\"\"Srinagar: National Conference (NC) parliamentarians will press for the restoration of statehood and special status to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir during the upcoming Winter Session of the Indian Parliament, while also raising the plight of Kashmiri political prisoners and other pressing issues.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, NC\u2019s newly elected Rajya Sabha member Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, in a statement in Srinagar, said, \u201cWe will raise these issues. Besides, we will also take up the matter of political prisoners lodged in different jails across India. We will seek their transfer to jails within Jammu Kashmir\u201d.<\/p>\n

Ramzan emphasized that restoration of statehood and special status has been the core agenda of the National Conference. He added the party\u2019s MPs would also highlight pressing developmental concerns, including power projects, electricity supply and tourism-related issues that are vital to IIOJK\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n

The Winter Session of the Indian Parliament is scheduled from December 1 to December 19, with 15 working days. Ramzan said the NC will utilise the session to ensure that \u201cthe concerns and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir are heard at the highest forum of democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
