Mirzapur: Panic erupted in Chunar town of Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Mirzapur district after unidentified miscreants set fire to the historic Jamia Masjid. The blaze damaged the main doors, carpets, electrical fixtures, and a small carpet-making unit inside the mosque.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, police said multiple CCTV cameras captured suspicious individuals near the mosque shortly before the fire, prompting an investigation into possible foul play.<\/p>\n

Chunar Police and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Verma visited the site and began forensic and technical examinations.<\/p>\n

Local residents, including Sahil of Peerwaji Shaheed locality, raised the alarm and helped bring the fire under control before it spread further.<\/p>\n

Imam Zahid Qadri urged authorities to act swiftly, calling the attack on the mosque a \u201cserious offense against a place of worship.\u201d<\/p>\n
