They said that in the presence of more than one million Indian troops, every house, street and settlement in occupied Kashmir had been turned into a prison.<br><br>The speakers said at present, over five thousand Kashmiris are illegally imprisoned in Indian jails. They said extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, oppression and torture, rape of women and depriving children of their sight through deadly pellet guns have now become a routine matter.<br><br>They said thousands of Kashmiri families have been stumbling for years in search of their loved ones, but the door of justice is closed to them. &#8220;Freedom of expression is restricted in the occupied territory, speech has become a crime and the voice of truth has been imprisoned. Life in Kashmir is abuzz but humanity is silent,&#8221; the lamented.<br><br>The speakers said India&#8217;s cruel, illegal and imperialist decision of August 5, 2019, has rubbed salt in the wounds of Kashmiris. They said this move of India is not only a violation of United Nations resolutions but also against India&#8217;s own Constitution. India is using cheap tactics to weaken the spirit of freedom of Kashmiris and doctors, students and workers are not safe, they added.<br><br>They said the economy of occupied Kashmir is being destroyed under a well-thought-out plan so that Kashmiris can be forced and helpless.<br><br>They appealed to the international community, the UN, OIC, human rights organizations and the international media to raise their voices in favour of the oppressed people of Kashmir and demanded that international media and human rights organizations be allowed access to occupied Kashmir.<br><br>The speakers also called for unconditional release of all Kashmiri political prisoners and the resolution of the Kashmir dispute resolved in accordance with UN resolutions.<br><br>They made it clear that Kashmiris have been burning for 78 years, but their courage is still as strong as mountains and will continue their struggle till complete success.\u00a0 <br><br>They announced a rally from Abshaar Chowk to Shaheed Chowk on the occasion of Human Rights Day, December 10.
