Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference-AJK chapter hosted a seminar at its office in Islamabad highlighting the systematic human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the event was presided over by senior APHC-AJK leader Muhammad Farooq Rahmani and attended by Hurriyat leadership, political and social activists, human rights defenders, and representatives from diverse communities.<\/p>\n

The speakers strongly condemned the decades-long atrocities committed by Indian forces in IIOJK, including killings, enforced disappearances, extrajudicial executions, mass graves, draconian laws, arbitrary detentions, restrictions on free speech, and economic and social exploitation. They said that since August 5, 2019, India has revoked the special status of Kashmir, pursued a dangerous policy to alter demographics, deprived Kashmiris of their land, resources, and identity, and intensified state repression\u2014actions that blatantly violate international law, the UN Charter, the Geneva Conventions, and all global human rights standards.<\/p>\n

Speakers also expressed deep concern over India\u2019s persistent obstruction of international human rights organizations, UN special envoys, and global media from accessing IIOJK to conceal ongoing atrocities from the world.<\/p>\n

Muhammad Farooq Rahmani said: \u201cHuman Rights Day should not be limited to ceremonies. It must serve as a wake-up call for the conscience of the world. The pressing question today is why the international community and human rights watchdogs remain silent while Kashmiris endure seven decades of oppression, violence, and subjugation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The seminar concluded with a unanimous call on the international community, the UN, the OIC, the European Union, and global human rights organizations to:<\/p>\n

\uf06cTake immediate notice of Indian atrocities in IIOJK
\n\uf06cSupport the Kashmiri people in securing their UN-backed right to self-determination
\n\uf06cHold India accountable for grave human rights violations at the international level
\n\uf06cParticipants reiterated their determination that Kashmiris will continue their struggle at all costs and expose India\u2019s crimes until justice and freedom are achieved.<\/p>\n

Senior Hurriyat leaders and attendees included Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Mir Tahir Masood, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Muhammad Rafiq Dar, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqub, Sheikh Abdul Matin, Hassan Al-Banna, Mirza Mushtaq Mahmood, Imtiaz Wani, Abdul Majid Lone, Mian Muzafar, Muhammad Shafiq Dar, Kifayat Rizvi, Manzoor Ahmed Dar, Nazir Karnai, Mian Syed Gulshan, Abdul Majid Mir, Khurshid Mir, Madam Benazir, Sanaullah Dar, Rais Mir, Qazi Imran, Imtiaz Butt, Abdul Rashid Butt, Ghulam Nabi Butt, Raja Parvez Ashraf, Raja Zareen, Lal Hussain, Shaukat Abuzar, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt , and others.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir\u2013chapter, led by Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, submitted a memorandum at the United Nations office in Islamabad on the occasion of Human Rights Day. In the memorandum addressed to the UN Secretary-General, the global body was urged to play its mandated role in stopping the grave human rights violations being committed by Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and to ensure that the Kashmiri people are given their UN-promised right to self-determination.<\/p>\n

In Neelum Valley, the Young Men\u2019s League organized a protest on the occasion of Human Rights Day.
