Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmir, National Conference Women\u2019s Wing President and MLA Shameema Firdous has urged the Indian government to restore full statehood to occupied Jammu and Kashmir, saying there is no justification for further delay.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Shameema Firdous said the restoration of statehood is a legitimate democratic right of the people of Kashmir and a pledge repeatedly made at constitutional and political forums. She warned that prolonged uncertainty has deepened public discontent and eroded trust in democratic institutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is absolutely no reason to withhold the promised statehood any longer. Restoring statehood is essential for accountable governance, strengthening democratic institutions, and addressing the aspirations of the people,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The NC Women\u2019s Wing President emphasized that elected representatives must be empowered to function effectively to tackle pressing social, economic, and developmental challenges faced by the region.
