Srinagar: Unemployment in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has risen above the India\u2019s national average, highlighting the worsening economic situation for the Kashmiri population under Indian occupation.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, figures cited in the Indian Parliament for July\u2013September 2025 stated that the unemployment rate in the territory stood at 6.1 percent, compared with India\u2019s 5.2 percent.<\/p>\n

Urban areas of the disputed territory fared worse, with unemployment reaching 10.6 percent, while rural areas recorded 5.1 percent. Female unemployment was particularly severe, hitting 20.8 percent in urban centers, whereas male unemployment across rural and urban areas averaged 4.6 percent.<\/p>\n
