According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian forces conducted the operation in the Gollapalli police station area of Sukma district today, during which three people were killed.<\/p>\n

Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan, describing them as Maoists, said the bodies of three Maoists, including a woman, have been recovered from the operation site, so far. He said the operation is ongoing and further details are awaited.<\/p>\n

So far this year, 284 Maoists have been killed by Indian forces during cordon and search operations and fake encounters in Chhattisgarh. Of these, 255 were killed in the Bastar division, which comprises seven districts, including Sukma, Bijapur, and Dantewada. Another 27 were killed in Gariaband district in the Raipur division, while two were killed in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district of the Durg division.<\/p>\n

These tribal communities are also known as Adivasis. However, the Indian government refers to them as Maoists or Naxalites, groups that are demanding an independent state and resisting Indian state control.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
