Jammu: Congress leaders in Jammu have launched a scathing attack on the Modi-led Indian government, accusing it of destroying the ideals of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and trampling upon workers\u2019 rights, federal principles, and the democratic ethos of India.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing a press conference at the Jammu Congress office, AICC Spokesperson Surinder Singh Rajput said that while Nathuram Godse physically killed Gandhi, the BJP government \u201ckilled his soul\u201d by systematically undermining his ideology and destroying schemes that empowered the poor and rural India.<\/p>\n
Rajput specifically targeted the Modi government for repealing the Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, calling it \u201cthe most revolutionary post-independence legislation\u201d that guaranteed work and dignity to over 12 crore workers.<\/p>\n
The Congress leader also condemned the BJP\u2019s vendetta politics against the party\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n
On the issue of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Rajput emphasized that restoration of statehood is a fundamental right being arbitrarily denied by the Modi government. He asserted that the Congress party will intensify its struggle for the rights of the people of Kashmir, with full backing from the party\u2019s central leadership.<\/p>\n
