\nIslamabad: A prayer session was organized in Islamabad under the auspices of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter on the death of Ghulam Nabi Shah, the paternal uncle of illegally detained senior Hurriyat leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the meeting was presided over by APHC-AJK. The participants of the meeting prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.<\/p>\n
Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi on this occasion said, “In this hour of grief, our full sympathies are with the bereaved family.” He said senior Hurriyat leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah has been enduring the hardships of imprisonment in Indian jails for the past several years. He said it is sad that he was neither allowed to see his close relative nor was he given the right to offer condolences upon his death.<\/p>\n
He said this behaviour is a clear proof of the callous, inhuman and oppressive policies of the Indian occupation authorities. He said the United Nations and international human rights organizations should take serious notice of the inhuman treatment meted out to Kashmiri political detainees detained in Indian jails and take steps for their early release.<\/p>\n
Senior Hurriyat leader Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, Advocate Pervaiz Ahmed, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Ms Shamim Shawl, Raja Shaheen, Javed Jahangir, Zahid Safi, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Muhammad Ashraf Dar and Shaukat Ahmed Butt were also present at the prayer meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
