Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has strongly condemned the authorities\u2019 recent move to attach land belonging to exiled Kashmiri activists, terming it a colonial-era tactic to silence dissent and dissenting voices.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the DFP spokesman, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, in a statement in Srinagar said that the Indian government was using confiscations as a tool to silence critical voices that have consistently advocated the Kashmiris\u2019 just cause at the international level.<\/p>\n
Referring to the verification of properties belonging to Dr Syed Nazir Gilani, Ershad Ahmed Malik and Raja Muzaffar Khan by the authorities, the spokesman said that the trio had always advocated for a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.<\/p>\n
He said they are being deliberately targeted for raising their voices for the voiceless people of occupied Kashmir and for seeking a resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute in line with international law.<\/p>\n
The spokesman urged the world human rights organizations to take effective notice of the matter and exert pressure on the Indian government to stop this insidious practice of dispossessing people of their rightful properties.<\/p>\n
Such actions, he said, violate the fundamental principles of justice and international law, which strictly prohibit states from depriving individuals of their right to property.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
