Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Chillai Kalan, the harshest phase of winter, has reached its peak, with the Kashmir Valley gripped by an intense cold wave.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, temperatures in Srinagar have consistently remained below freezing point, while thick fog has disrupted daily life. Vehicles are forced to use headlights due to reduced visibility. The IIOJK\u2019s Meteorological Department has forecasted dry weather for the rest of the month, but temperatures are expected to continue dropping, intensifying the winter chill.<\/p>\n

The biting cold winds in the mornings and evenings have brought life to to a near standstill. In Srinagar, the night temperature recorded a frigid -2.2\u00b0C, while famous tourist destinations of Gulmarg and Pahalgam in the Kashmir Valley saw minimum temperatures of -5.4\u00b0C and -4.4\u00b0C, respectively.<\/p>\n
