Jammu: A massive fire incident was reported from Thachna village in the Dachhan area of Kishtwar district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in which around eight to nine residential houses were engulfed in flames.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, an official said that the fire broke out under unknown circumstances and spread rapidly, causing extensive damage to residential structures.<\/p>\n

He said that local residents, along with police personnel, are making strenuous efforts to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby houses. However, the firefighting and rescue operations are being severely hampered due to the non-availability of adequate water resources in the area.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a fire incident broke out in a three-storeyed residential house at SD Colony, Batamaloo, on Thursday evening, causing damage to the second floor and attic portion of the building, officials said.<\/p>\n

Officials said the affected house belongs to Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh and Mehraj-ud-Din Sheikh.<\/p>\n

After a brief but intense operation, fire personnel succeeded in bringing the blaze under control. No loss of life was reported in the incident.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
