Islamabad: Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, has strongly condemned the continued house arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and his prevention from offering Friday prayers, stating that such restrictions reflect the widespread Indian oppression and systematic denial of basic rights in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, who represents Mirwaiz in the APHC-AJK, in a statement in Islamabad, asserted that India has systematically snatched Kashmiris fundamental rights, including their right to religious freedom. He emphasized that such restrictions on religious freedom reflect a broader pattern of repression, intimidation, and denial of civil liberties in IIOJK. He added that despite enduring multiple house arrests and restrictions, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq remains steadfast in his peaceful struggle for the end of Indian occupation and for the realization of the Kashmiri people\u2019s legitimate aspirations.<\/p>\n

Naqshbandi further stated that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory, and no unilateral action by India can alter its legal and political status. He drew attention to the ongoing Indian atrocities in the occupied territory, including arbitrary arrests, prolonged detentions, restrictions on movement, and the silencing of political and religious voices, stressing that India\u2019s policy of silencing Kashmiris through force will never succeed.<\/p>\n

He urged the international community to take urgent notice of the deteriorating situation in IIOJK and pressurize India to resolve the Kashmir dispute.<\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that the Indian authorities once again placed senior APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, under house arrest in Srinagar, today, preventing him from attending Friday prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
