Jammu: Continuing their colonial policies aimed at dispossessing Kashmiris of their assets, Indian authorities have seized the immovable property of another individual in Poonch district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, police, acting under the orders of the New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor, confiscated a plot of land measuring 6 kanal and 13.5 marla (approximately 39,528 sq ft) in Mandi Tehsil of the district. The land belonged to Jamal Lone, a resident of Chamber Kanari village, and the seizure was carried out under the draconian Unlawful Activities and Prevention Act (UAPA).<\/p>\n

The police have claimed that the property owner has been allegedly involved in activities detrimental to the security and sovereignty of India, a frequently used accusation to target Kashmiris.<\/p>\n

Just a day earlier, Indian authorities attached over four marlas of land belonging to another individual, Rafiq Nai Sultan, in the village Nar in the same district.<\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that since illegal abrogation of IIOJK\u2019s special status in August 2019, the Modi regime has seized hundreds of properties belonging to Kashmiris, including residential houses, land, shops and other establishments. These actions are meant to not only cripple the local economy but also alter the demography of IIOJK by transferring ownership of these properties to non-Kashmiri Hindus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
