Mumbai: In yet another instance of targeting Muslims over minor actions in India, police in Maharashtra have arrested a man for allegedly playing \u201cKashmir Banega Pakistan\u201d song inside a salon, further fueling concerns over anti-Muslim repression in Modi\u2019s India.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the arrested man, identified as Abdul Rehman Sadruddin Shah, is originally from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place in the Chinchoti area of Palghar district, where the song was allegedly played through a Bluetooth-connected mobile phone to a loudspeaker in Ruhan Hair Cutting Salon.<\/p>\n

The FIR registered at Naigaon Police Station says that Sub-Inspector Pankaj Kilje, while patrolling the area in a private vehicle, heard the \u201canti-national\u201d song blaring from the salon. The song, audible on the street, was considered a serious threat to India\u2019s sovereignty and public peace.<\/p>\n

Without delay, the police conducted a raid at the salon and took Abdul Rehman into custody. A case has been registered against him under the Indian Penal Code.
