Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that the Kashmiri people\u2019s struggle is rooted in the universal principle of plebiscite and self-determination, and their tremendous sacrifices have generated global support and outrage.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar said that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute could be resolved swiftly if the international community so wills. He warned that peace in South Asia will remain a distant dream unless Kashmir dispute is resloled as per Kashmiris\u2019 aspirations. He described the current uprising as unprecedented in the 78-year history of Kashmir\u2019s resistance movement.<\/p>\n
The APHC condemned pro-India politicians for selling every inch of the territory to outsiders to appease New Delhi, adding that domicile certificates are being issued to non-Kashmiri Hindu settlers to alter the region\u2019s Muslim-majority demography.<\/p>\n
Minhas stressed that freedom will not come overnight. \u201cIf we want to be our own masters, it will take time. Peoples of the subcontinent gained freedom after more than 200 years of struggle,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He contrasted past agitations of 2008, 2009, and 2010, which were issue-based, with the 2016 uprising, calling it a true revolt. \u201cIt reflects the commitment of Kashmir\u2019s next generation to the ultimate goal\u2014Azadi\u2014not merely to immediate demands,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The spokesman said that the dark night of Indian oppression in occupied Jammu and Kashmir will eventually end, and the Kashmiri people will witness the dawn of freedom. Despite living under illegal Indian military occupation, they remain determined to achieve freedom and have never submitted to New Delhi\u2019s tactics.<\/p>\n
He said Indian authorities have used every method of oppression to weaken Kashmiris\u2019 indigenous movement but failed to halt their struggle for self-determination. Minhas paid tribute to the youth who sacrificed their lives for the cause and urged the international community to pressure India to end state terrorism in the territory and resolve the long-standing Kashmir dispute.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
