The forward zones along the LoC are heavily mined by Indian forces as part of a wider militarization of the frontier.<\/p>\n<p>Plumes of smoke were seen billowing from the affected areas as intermittent blasts echoed through the region, causing panic among residents of nearby villages.<\/p>\n<p>The blaze continues to pose a serious threat to civilian habitations, livestock, and forest wealth, while also complicating the movement of troops deployed in the forward locations.<\/p>\n<p>With the fire still active on Wednesday, Indian forces intensified patrolling and further strengthened deployment along the LoC.<\/p>\n<p>There were no immediate reports of casualties; however, the incidents have once again highlighted the dangers posed by landmines and recurring forest fires along the heavily militarized Line of Control.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jammu: A raging forest fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of the Jammu region has triggered fresh landmine explosions for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, heightening fear and tension among the local population.
