Srinagar: The National Conference has expressed serious concern over the police profiling of mosques, Imams, and mohalla committees across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, terming it a “gross and unwarranted interference” in the religious affairs of the Muslim community.<\/p>\n
According to\u00a0Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, NC Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar said the move violates fundamental rights, including the right to privacy and protection of personal information.<\/p>\n
“The nature and depth of information being sought goes far beyond any routine administrative requirement and raises serious questions about the intent behind such measures,” Dar said.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that internal religious affairs cannot be subjected to arbitrary surveillance and intrusive scrutiny, and urged the Lieutenant Governor to immediately desist from such practices and uphold constitutional guarantees of religious freedom and civil liberties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
