Since 1947, over 450,000 Kashmiris have been killed, hundreds blinded or handicapped by brute force, bullets, pellets, PAVA, and tear gas shells. Since 1989, Indian forces have committed widespread atrocities in IIOJK. The report stated that the Indian army is trained in acts that amount to genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes in occupied Kashmir.

According to the report, Indian troops have killed 96,481 people in IIOJK since January 1989. It said the army has no justification to celebrate its day while its personnel continue committing heinous crimes against Dalits and Adivasis in India and against Kashmiris under notorious cordon-and-search operations in the occupied territory.

The report lamented that Indian forces have killed thousands of civilians in India’s northeastern region over the past two decades, and that the killing fields of IIOJK expose the army’s true face.

It added that the Indian troops have turned IIOJK into a militarized cantonment and battlefield, where even innocent civilians, professionals, women, children, and the elderly are not safe from state terrorism.

The report also noted that the Indian army is now fully dominated by Hindutva-inspired extremist RSS/BJP ideology.

In January 2022, thousands of acres of land in the Gulmarg and Sonamarg areas were declared “strategic” and handed over to the Indian military—a brazen violation of international law, the report said.

It further stated that excessive use of force and impunity enjoyed by Indian forces in IIOJK has led to a sharp rise in atrocity crimes. International rights bodies have documented the army’s brutalities, and the report stressed that the Indian army must be held accountable for its ongoing atrocities.
#IndianArmyBrutality

Islamabad: As India celebrates its 78th Army Day today, its army and paramilitary forces, under draconian laws, continue to brutalize Kashmiris in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
