\"\"Washington: A US magazine ‘Foreign Affairs’ has revealed that India\u2019s claim of being a strong strategic partner of the United States is weakening after recent developments.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the ‘Foreign Affairs’ in its recent analysis said relations between Washington and New Delhi have been under their most severe strain in history since the Pakistan-India ceasefire in May 2025. Pakistan openly praised US President Donald Trump\u2019s role in the ceasefire, while India rejected American mediation.<\/p>\n

The magazine stated that repeated mentions by the US President of Pakistan\u2019s diplomatic and military successes, along with positive ties with Pakistani leadership, have caused diplomatic embarrassment for India. The US President also refused to sign a proposed trade agreement with India and imposed additional tariffs on Indian exports, further damaging bilateral relations.<\/p>\n

Foreign Affairs noted that these actions have led to a growing perception in the US that India may not be a reliable strategic partner.<\/p>\n

Experts argue that if India distances itself from the US over minor diplomatic disputes, it indicates that India is not a confident and stable partner. The fragility of a 25-year relationship based merely on ego and rhetoric highlights the institutional weakness of the partnership.<\/p>\n

Analysts also said that the Pakistan-India ceasefire was made possible through US intervention at India\u2019s request. However, India avoids acknowledging this due to internal political reasons. The issue is not American mediation, but India\u2019s desire to maintain complete control over the narrative.<\/p>\n
