He said the Centre\u2019s decisions were not aimed at national unity but at isolating minorities and pushing them to the fringes of social and political life.<br><br>Vijayan said controversial laws such as the Citizenship Act and proposed amendments to the Waqf Act were deeply discriminatory and sent a clear message of exclusion to Muslims. He warned that such measures undermine the principle of equal citizenship and strike at the core of India\u2019s secular fabric.<br><br>Referring to developments in several BJP-ruled states, the Chief Minister said Muslims were increasingly facing humiliation, intimidation, mob violence and hate speech because of their religious identity. He cited incidents from Uttar Pradesh and other states where Hindutva elements openly incited violence, saying silence and inaction by authorities had emboldened such forces.<br><br>He said attacks on places of worship belonging to Muslims and Christians were part of a deliberate strategy of communal polarization, adding that India\u2019s democratic and secular foundations were under severe threat. Vijayan recalled that firm action by his government in Kerala had helped prevent communal violence in the past and stressed that communalism could only be defeated through unwavering commitment to secular values.<br><br>The Kerala Yatra, led by Islamic scholar A.P. Abubacker Musliyar, began from Kasargod on January 1 and concluded in Thiruvananthapuram, focusing on unity, constitutional rights and resistance to communal hatred.
