\"\"Islamabad: President of Institute of Peace and Development Dr Muhammad Tahir Tabassum has said that India\u2019s Hindutva government is using the judiciary as a weapon against the Kashmiri leadership.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Dr. Tahir Tabassum in a statement said Indian courts are trying inhuman, illegal and vindictive tactics to suppress the effective voices of Kashmiris.<\/p>\n

He said all the cases filed against Kashmiri leaders are false, baseless and based on political vendetta. He said that Masarat Alam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmida Sufi, Zafar Akbar Butt and all other leaders are being kept in jails illegally and are being continuously deprived of medical facilities.<\/p>\n

He said the detainees are being provided with substandard and unhealthy food, which is a clear violation of Indian laws and international charters.<\/p>\n

He appealed to the United Nations, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), European Union and international human rights organizations to play an urgent role in saving the lives of the Kashmiri leadership.<\/p>\n

Tahir Tabassum also urged the government of Pakistan to make immediate diplomatic and political efforts to release the Kashmiri Hurriyat leadership from illegal detention. He said the Indian government is targeting the Hurriyat leadership, including Yasin Malik, for political revenge. However, he made it clear that India cannot weaken the spirit of freedom of the Kashmiris through these illegal tactics.<\/p>\n

He said that the forced profiling of mosques, places of worship and confiscation of properties of ordinary Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir is completely illegal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
