\"\"Islamabad: The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has strongly condemned the Indian authorities\u2019 inhuman treatment of its incarcerated chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik for implicating him in concocted and politically motivated cases.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Delhi High Court today granted the National Investigation Agency (NIA) an additional four weeks to file its rejoinder to the agency\u2019s appeal seeking the conversion of the life sentence awarded by the trial court to Muhammad Yasin Malik into the death penalty in connection with a fabricated case. The court has fixed the next hearing of the appeal for April 22.<\/p>\n

In a statement from Islamabad, JKLF chief spokesman Muhammad Rafiq Dar expressed concern over Yasin Malik\u2019s ongoing treatment. He said that Yasin Malik raised objections over the NIA\u2019s delaying tactics and the decision to ban his physical appearance in the court. Yasin Malik virtually appeared from Delhi\u2019s Tihar jail during today\u2019s hearing.<\/p>\n

Rafiq Dar stressed that the JKLF leadership will mobilize every possible political and diplomatic resources to generate pressure on India from undertaking any reckless decision with regard to Yasin Malik. He announced that the party\u2019s highest decision-making body, the Supreme Council, will convene soon to chalk out future strategy for Malik\u2019 safe return and to carry the flag of freedom forward.<\/p>\n

He further emphasized that India should carefully reconsider any rash political decisions regarding Yasin Malik, warning that any such moves could have severe and lasting repercussions. The JKLF leadership made it clear that Yasin Malik is an iconic political leader and his courage and contribution to the movement will always be remembered in the history of Kashmir\u2019s freedom struggle.<\/p>\n

The statement concluded that the party leadership will continue efforts for a peaceful and amicable resolution of the Kashmir dispute while reiterating party position that there cannot be any solution without the active participation of Kashmiris.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
