Jammu: Communist Party of India-Marxist MLA M Y Tarigami has called for an all-party meeting to discuss the “disempowerment” of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and seek restoration of statehood, saying it’s a test of Indian democracy.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Tarigami urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to convene the meeting. He criticized the weakening of the Assembly and the territory’s disempowerment, despite a \u201chistoric\u201d mandate.<\/p>\n

He ridiculed the Modi regime\u2019s \u201cJammu and Kashmir integral part\u201d mantra questioning “If J&K is an integral part, restore democracy here too”.<\/p>\n

Tarigami expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation, stating that individuals are harassed based on minor allegations, and called for an end to profiling of mosques and Imams.<\/p>\n
