{"id":194329,"date":"2026-02-06T18:43:14","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T13:43:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/?p=194329"},"modified":"2026-02-06T18:43:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T13:43:14","slug":"pakistan-strongly-condemns-suicide-attack-on-islamabad-imambargah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/2026\/02\/06\/pakistan-strongly-condemns-suicide-attack-on-islamabad-imambargah.html","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan strongly condemns suicide attack on Islamabad Imambargah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-194330\" src=\"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/assests\/2026\/02\/29-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"384\" height=\"213\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Islamabad: Pakistan\u2019s leadership has strongly condemned the suicide on an imambargah during Friday prayers in Islamabad, vowing to bring the &#8220;extremists to full account.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to Kashmir Media Service, the blast at Imambargah Khadijah al-Kubra in the Tarlai area killed at least 31 people and injured 169 others.<\/p>\n<p>President Asif Ali Zardari expressed \u201cdeep grief and regret\u201d over the explosion, extending condolences to the victims who lost their lives in the blast. &#8220;Targeting innocent civilians is a crime against humanity,&#8221; Zardari said, directing authorities to provide the injured with the best possible medical care.<\/p>\n<p>While condemning the blast, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to conduct a \u201cthorough\u201d investigation and &#8220;swiftly&#8221; identify those responsible. &#8220;The perpetrators of the blast must be identified and brought to justice,&#8221; Sharif said, adding: &#8220;No one will be allowed to spread violence and instability in the country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said, &#8220;Targeting places of worship and civilians is a heinous crime against humanity and a blatant violation of Islamic principles,&#8221; he said. &#8220;This barbarity will not intimidate us, and extremists will be brought to full account.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said: \u201cThose who martyr worshippers in mosques are enemies of both religion and the country.\u201d \u201cIt has been proved that the terrorist involved in the attack travelled to and from Afghanistan. The collusion between India and Afghanistan is being revealed,\u201d he further stated in a post on X.<\/p>\n<p>Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also said that \u201cIndia is behind\u201d the incident today. The minister further said that Pakistan had always promoted peace and wanted peace in the region.
