Srinagar: Posters have appeared in different areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, urging people to observe a complete shutdown on February 11, the martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmiri leader Muhammad Maqbool Butt.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, India sent prominent liberation leader Muhammad Maqbool Butt to the gallows in New Delhi\u2019s Tihar Jail on February 11, 1984. On February 09, 2013, New Delhi hanged Muhammad Afzal Guru in the same jail. The bodies of both Afzal Guru and Muhammad Maqbool Butt were buried within the jail premises.<\/p>\n
The posters, displayed in various parts of the territory and carrying pictures of martyrs Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru, said that the struggle of martyrs against India\u2019s illegal occupation of Kashmir will continue.<\/p>\n
The posters also paid homage to over five lakh martyrs since 1947, emphasizing their sacrifices for the sacred cause of plebiscite under the United Nations resolutions on self-determination.<\/p>\n
They appealed to international human rights organizations to address the plight of Kashmiri prisoners, including Kashmir\u2019s longest-serving detainees such as Massarat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, and Dr. Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, who have completed over three decades of incarceration for their just demands.<\/p>\n
The posters stated that the people of Kashmir will foil the nefarious designs of India and Hindutva forces against the region, and urged Kashmiris to avoid selling their land to non-Kashmiris, warning that India aims to erode the Muslim identity of the territory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
