New Delhi: A 14-year-old Rohingya refugee boy was stabbed to death in New Delhi, with social psychologists citing rising hate mongering behind such incidents across India.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred after a heated argument broke out with a group of teenagers in a residential area. The altercation, which began between the boys who lived in the same locality, soon turned violent. The four accused boys attacked the victim, a minor, with a sharp object, resulting in his death.<\/p>\n
One of the representatives for Rohingya refugees, Hussaid Ahmed, told the media that the altercation began after the victim, who was on his way to offer prayers, was halted by the accused boys. The boys reportedly teased him and two other minor Rohingya refugees. After the attack, the victim was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital but couldn’t survive due to the injuries sustained.<\/p>\n
Ahmed stated that delays in arranging a blood transfusion led to the tragic death. Expressing shock and disappointment, he said that he believes the boy could have been saved if a blood transfusion had been arranged on time.<\/p>\n
As the Rohingya community mourns the loss of the young boy, psychologists warn that such incidents are a grim reflection of the rising tide of hate mongering in India. “The growing intolerance and prejudice towards minority groups, including Rohingya refugees, is creating a toxic environment that can lead to violent outbursts,” said Dr. Tabassum, a clinical psychologist. “It’s imperative to address the root causes of this hate and promote empathy, understanding, and inclusivity to prevent such tragedies in the future.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
