Baalu of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Dimple Yadav of the Samajwadi Party (SP).<\/p>\n<p>The Congress said that the Speaker deliberately denied Rahul Gandhi his right to speak during the debate on the Motions of Thanks to the President\u2019s address. The notice also criticized Birla\u2019s recent suspension of eight Opposition MPs for sloganeering, seven of whom belonged to Congress.<\/p>\n<p>The notice further objected to the Speaker\u2019s remarks in the House that he had \u201cconcrete information\u201d suggesting that some Congress members might move toward Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s seat and carry out \u201csome unexpected act.\u201d Congress described this as an abuse of the constitutional office of the Speaker.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, eight women Congress MPs wrote to the Speaker on Monday, saying they were being targeted simply because they had \u201cconsistently fought against PM Modi\u2019s anti-people government and demanded accountability from him.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi: Indian Opposition parties, led by the Congress, have submitted a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for acting in a partisan manner and denying Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi the opportunity to speak.
