Srinagar: Jailed Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Masarrat Aalam Butt, has paid glowing tribute to prominent Kashmiri leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt, on the his 42nd martyrdom anniversary, saying the Kashmiri people are duty-bound to safeguard the martyrs\u2019 sacrifices by taking their mission to its logical conclusion.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League spokesman in a statement in Srinagar quoting Masarrat Aalam Butt’s message from New Delhi\u2019s infamous Tihar jail said the Kashmiris will never forget their heroes.<\/p>\n
He maintained Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Butt, Shaheed Afzal Guru and other martyrs infused a new life into the Kashmir freedom struggle and they will remain the source of inspiration for the Kashmiri people. He said the struggle for freedom from Indian bondage remains alive by remembering these supreme sacrifices and deepens Kashmiris\u2019 resolve against India and its local stooges.<\/p>\n
The APHC Chairman said the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been resisting political injustice and India\u2019s illegal occupation of their homeland for the last over 78 years and during this period, thousands of Kashmiris have offered their precious lives for this sacred cause. He stressed the blood of these martyrs will not be allowed to go waste.<\/p>\n
Masarrat Aalam Butt urged the people of IIOJK to remain steadfast in their struggle for a just resolution of the long-pending Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and their will.<\/p>\n
He also reiterated the Kashmiris\u2019 demand for the return of the mortal remains of Maqbool Butt and Afzal Guru who remain buried in the notorious Tihar Jail premises. He said India is violating all moral and democratic principles by not handing over the mortal remains of the two martyrs to the Kashmiris, adding that New Delhi\u2019s denial of this demand has exposed its claim of being the largest democracy of the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
