Hyderabad: In another Islamophobic act in India under Narendra Modi\u2019s Hindutva government, the Jamia Masjid was vandalised and copies of the Holy Qur\u2019an were desecrated by unidentified miscreants in Telangana state.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the mosque was targeted and the Holy Qur\u2019an and other religious books were desecrated in Jalalpur village of Bommalaramaram Mandal in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.<\/p>\n
Worshippers arriving for prayers were left shaken after discovering damaged walls, broken window panes, and damaged washroom doors. Multiple copies of the Holy Qur\u2019an were found strewn across the floor, bearing clear signs of desecration. Several empty wine, beer, and whisky bottles were also recovered from the premises, according to media reports.<\/p>\n
Local residents described the incident as a communal act targeting the Muslim community. According to reports, unidentified individuals forcibly entered the mosque, ransacked parts of the premises, and vandalised religious scriptures.<\/p>\n
People described it as a communal act allegedly carried out by Hindutva supporters associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Vishva Hindu Parishad, and Bajrang Dal, targeting the Muslim community.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson for Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), Amjed Ullah Khan, condemned the attack, calling it \u201ca hateful assault on religious harmony and constitutional values.\u201d He demanded that police immediately register a criminal case, identify the perpetrators, and ensure strict punishment under the law.<\/p>\n
Residents said the incident appeared to be more than mere vandalism of a place of worship, describing it as a deliberate attempt to provoke communal tension. They urged authorities to act swiftly and transparently, warning that failure to take decisive action could embolden anti-social elements.<\/p>\n
