However, the ordinance faced legal challenges and was stayed by the Bombay High Court in November 2014. With the ordinance&#8217;s lapse, the government has now formally withdrawn all related decisions and circulars .<\/p>\n<p>The opposition has slammed the government&#8217;s decision, calling it discriminatory and a blow to the Muslim community&#8217;s rights.
