\nNew Delhi: A domestically developed Tejas fighter jet of the Indian Air Force crashed while landing after a routine training sortie, officials confirmed.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian Air Force has ordered a high-level court of inquiry to ascertain the cause of the accident and has initiated a comprehensive technical inspection of the entire Tejas fleet.<\/p>\n

The crashed aircraft was among the 32 single-seat Tejas jets delivered by state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Limited under the Light Combat Aircraft program. The incident comes at a time when the Air Force is already facing delays in the delivery of the upgraded Tejas Mark 1A variant, despite placing orders for 180 aircraft to strengthen its combat squadrons.<\/p>\n

This marks the third major accident involving the Tejas program in recent years. In March 2024, a Tejas jet crashed near Jaisalmer, while another aircraft was lost during the Dubai Air Show in November 2025, resulting in the death of the pilot.
