Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has expressed grave concern over the rapidly deteriorating situation in the Middle East, particularly the escalating tensions and war-like build-up surrounding Iran.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing a large gathering at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, Mirwaiz described the prevailing atmosphere in the region as \u201cdeeply disturbing and worrying.\u201d He said that the intensifying developments have created widespread anxiety among people in Kashmir.<\/p>\n

Referring to the longstanding cultural ties between Kashmir and Iran, he noted that a large number of Kashmiri students are currently pursuing studies in Iranian institutions, and the escalating tensions have caused panic among their parents and families back home.<\/p>\n

The Mirwaiz prayed for the safety and well-being of the Iranian people and the Kashmiri students studying there.
