Srinagar: Indian forces personnel have arrested over 800 youth, including dozens of girls, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian police arrested more than 800 youth, including girls, during protests and house raids in different areas of Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Bandipora and Baramulla districts following mass demonstrations over the martyrdom of Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a US-Israel strike on Iran, in which hundreds of civilians, including schoolboys, were martyred.<\/p>\n
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (has strongly condemned the arrest of more than eight hundred Kashmiris during unwarranted raids, siege and search operations conducted on the houses of youth and activists by Indian forces in the occupied territory.<\/p>\n
The APHC said Indian forces are trying to suppress the sentiments of Kashmiris who were expressing solidarity with Iran. It stated that such arbitrary arrests and detentions are a glaring example of India\u2019s state terrorism and the trampling of fundamental human rights and freedoms in IIOJK.<\/p>\n
The APHC further said that occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been turned into the world\u2019s largest prison where more than one million Indian troops are deployed and are empowered by draconian laws such as the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).<\/p>\n
The Hurriyat Conference urged the international community to play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the will of the Kashmiri people and the United Nations resolutions, stating that lasting peace in South Asia cannot be achieved until the Kashmir issue is resolved.<\/p>\n
The APHC has also called for peaceful demonstrations across the occupied territory on Friday in solidarity with Iran and against the policies of Modi and Netanyahu.<\/p>\n
APHC spokesman Abdul Rashid Minhas appealed to Kashmiris to participate in large numbers after Friday prayers. He condemned the ongoing curfew-like restrictions, internet suspension, detention of youth and the media gag in the occupied territory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
