New Delhi: Indian opposition MPs staged a protest in theover the ongoing shortage of Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders, saying that the Modi government has failed to address a growing crisis affecting households and small businesses.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, MPs from opposition parties held placards and raised slogans near the entrance, highlighting long queues and uncertainty over the availability of cooking gas.<\/p>\n
Women MPs, led by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, sat on the ground with a mock brick cooking stove to symbolically highlight the difficulties faced by businesses and households amid the supply disruption.<\/p>\n
The protest also called for a full-fledged parliamentary discussion on the situation in West Asia and its impact on India, including energy and fuel supplies.<\/p>\n
Speaking to reporters, Congress MP KC Venugopal said that the shortage is causing widespread distress among ordinary citizens. \u201cAll over India, the LPG shortage is resulting in massive queues, forcing eateries to shut down and creating widespread panic among the people,\u201d he said, adding that the situation reflects administrative failure at the highest level. \u201cThe compromised PM has proven to be completely helpless in preventing this from happening, and his government is totally clueless,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOpposition MPs protested in Parliament to expose this government\u2019s incompetence and demand urgent action to resolve the crisis,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
LPG is a key cooking fuel for millions of households and small businesses across India, and any disruption in supply can have serious consequences for daily operation.<\/p>\n
Opposition leaders warned they will continue to raise the issue inside and outside Parliament until the Modi government presents a clear plan to stabilise LPG supplies and prevent prolonged shortages.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
