She said when internet access becomes uncertain, freedom of expression is weakened, and when assembly is restricted, democratic processes are undermined.<\/p>\n<p>She further pointed out that the digital space, once a source of empowerment for Kashmiri youth, has increasingly come under strict monitoring and regulation. In the modern era, she said, connectivity is essential for education, commerce, and free thought, and prolonged shutdowns amount to a serious disruption of human development.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting the daily impact of these restrictions, she said students are unable to attend online classes, journalists face fear of legal repercussions for reporting, small business owners suffer due to disrupted digital commerce, and families remain cut off from their loved ones during communication blackouts.<\/p>\n<p>The IMWU urged the international community to take notice of the situation and ensure the protection of fundamental freedoms in IIOJK in accordance with international human rights standards.
