However, it is deeply regrettable that in occupied Kashmir, the administration has again denied Kashmiri Muslims their basic religious rights by closing the historic Jamia Masjid and placing Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest, preventing him from leading prayers and guiding the Kashmiri people during this blessed night.

Ghulam Mohammad Sufi further emphasized that these actions not only violate universally recognized principles of religious freedom but also expose the falsehood behind India’s claims of normalcy in IIOJK. If the situation were truly normal, he asked, why would Kashmiri Muslims be prevented from performing their religious rituals, and why would their most sacred place of worship be forcibly shut down?

He asked that such actions are part of a broader, systematic policy by Indian authorities to suppress the religious, political, and social rights of the Kashmiri people. The policy, he said, not only targets political leaders by subjecting them to arrests, but also stifles religious institutions and places of worship through constant restrictions and bans.

Ghulam Mohammad Safi made it clear that the Kashmiri people will never accept any restrictions on their religious identity and fundamental rights under any circumstances. He called on India to immediately lift all restrictions on mosques and religious sites and respect the religious and civil rights of the Kashmiri people.

Moreover, he urged the international community, especially the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), human rights organizations, and all justice-loving nations, to take immediate notice of the ongoing violations of religious freedoms and basic human rights in IIOJK. He called on them to work towards the liberation of the Kashmiri people from India’s oppressive and tyrannical rule.

Islamabad: The Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Ghulam Mohammad Safi, has strongly condemned the closure of the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar and the house arrest of senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq by the Indian authorities on the sacred occasion of Shab-e-Qadr in Indian illegally occupied …

[19

post-196757","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-aphc-ajk
["GET
