Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has strongly criticized the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) midnight transfer of top officials, including Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty and Home Secretary J.P. Meena.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Banerjee accused the ECI of being “anti-Bengali” and “anti-women”, alleging that the BJP is using proxies to sabotage the state.<\/p>\n

She questioned the timing of the transfers, especially before Eid, and warned that her residence might be targeted, similar to the alleged attack on state minister Shashi Panja’s house.<\/p>\n
