New Delhi: Two Muslim students were brutally assaulted by a group of Hindutva men in Northeast Delhi\u2019s Mustafabad area while returning home after writing their Class 12 board examinations.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the victims, Mohammad Faizan, a 17-year-old student, and his friend, also named Faizan, had just left their all-boys government school in Tukhmirpur on March 16 when the attack took place.<\/p>\n
According to the family, the boys had completed their exam, and Faizan had offered Zuhr prayers before heading home. He was fasting and was reportedly wearing a skullcap at the time, which made him identifiable.<\/p>\n
Eyewitness accounts suggest that a group of men approached the students from behind, stopped them, and asked their names. After identifying the Hindu students among them, the attackers separated them and chased them away.<\/p>\n
The two Muslim boys were then subjected to a violent assault. The attackers used sticks, punches, screwdrivers, and other objects to beat them.<\/p>\n
Mohammad Faizan sustained severe injuries. His family says that he was struck with such force that his head was slammed into a parked truck, causing him to lose consciousness on the spot.<\/p>\n
He suffered serious injuries, including a reported fracture of the nose and required several stitches on his lips.<\/p>\n
The Hindu classmates who had initially fled later returned and alerted the police. The victims were first taken to a nearby hospital and later referred to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for further treatment.<\/p>\n
Faizan\u2019s brother, Mohammad Rashud, speaking to the media, said his condition remained alarming even after returning home. \u201cThe bleeding from his nose would not stop,\u201d he said, adding that he had been fasting for Ramzan and was already under stress due to his board exams.<\/p>\n
Rashid added that the family is demanding strict action against the involved persons and has called for CCTV footage from the area to be examined.<\/p>\n
