New Delhi: Pakistan High Commission (HC) in New Delhi celebrated Pakistan Day with patriotic fervor today (March 23).<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires of Pakistan High Commission Saad Ahmad Warraich hoisted the national flag on the Chancery lawn.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, messages from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister\/Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar were read out.<\/p>\n
Saad Ahmad Warraich on the occasion said the Lahore Resolution of March 23, 1940 proved to be a milestone for the Muslims of the subcontinent in their struggle for a separate homeland.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cUnder the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, this collective movement found expression in the establishment of Pakistan within a short period of seven years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Saad Ahmad Warraich further said, \u201cWe pay tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Movement; their sacrifices are a beacon for the entire nation in preserving the invaluable gift of freedom and in making sincere efforts for national development and prosperity.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLooking at India today, the monster of Hindutva is a living example of the foresight of our ancestors. History teaches us that only those nations truly remain free who have the ability to defend their freedom,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
He said the battle for truth once again renewed the nation\u2019s collective resolve for the defence of the homeland. \u201cThe entire world is a witness to Pakistan\u2019s unwavering determination to protect its sovereignty and defend its freedom,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Appreciating the role of the brave armed forces in defending the homeland, Saad Ahmad Warraich said that Pakistan\u2019s established deterrence is not only a cause of stability in South Asia but also guarantees regional peace.<\/p>\n
He believed that peaceful relations between Pakistan and India can only be established on the basis of equality, mutual respect, and the peaceful resolution of all disputes.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe goal of lasting peace and stability in South Asia can only be achieved through a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
